The Great Moo-venture
The Great Moo‑venture is back on the road this year bigger than ever after our breakout year last year.
The tour by our milk tankers and their drivers to 16 primary schools across the West Coast was such a success, we're working towards visiting all schools in 2026.
The Great Moo‑venture is designed to give local students a better understanding of where their milk comes from and the role farmers play in the production cycle of some of the world's most outstanding dairy products, even if we do say so ourselves.
We’ve worked closely with a local teacher to deliver a hands-on learning programme that brings dairy production to life. Through interactive activities and a visit from one of our tankers, students will get to explore the milk journey and how products like butter and skim milk powder are made.
Last year, the response from schools was overwhelmingly positive. A clear highlight for students was getting up close to the tanker, climbing into the cab and sounding the horn, alongside the hands-on activities that walked them through the journey from milk to finished product.
In 2026, we’re building on that momentum to introduce more challenging activities for older students, while reaching more schools and continuing to strengthen the connection between our farming communities and the next generation.
We look forward to sharing more updates as the programme gets under way.
